Access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene is essential for survival and dignity. UMR’s WASH interventions provide lifesaving infrastructure and hygiene education to prevent disease and restore resilience in communities affected by conflict, climate change, and displacement.

Safe Water Access​

UMR drills and rehabilitates boreholes and solar-powered wells in water-scarce regions of Kenya, Somalia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. We test each source for quality and place them strategically to ease access for women, children, and people with disabilities.

Drought Response & Emergency Water Trucking​

In times of drought or disaster, UMR delivers emergency water via trucking and bladder tanks to areas like Somalia, northern Kenya, and Gaza. Long-term, we invest in sustainable solutions like rainwater harvesting and storage to reduce future vulnerability.

Sanitation Facilities

We construct and rehabilitate latrines, bathing areas, and handwashing stations in refugee camps, health facilities, and schools. Our facilities are gender-sensitive, accessible, and built to international SPHERE standards.

Hygiene Promotion

UMR delivers hygiene education alongside infrastructure, teaching handwashing, menstrual hygiene, and safe water handling. During public health emergencies, we distribute hygiene kits, PPE, and cleaning supplies to mitigate disease spread.

School & Health Facility WASH Support

By installing WASH infrastructure in schools and health clinics, we reduce absenteeism, especially for girls, and support infection prevention. Water tanks, gender-segregated latrines, and handwashing facilities help students and patients stay healthy.

Community Ownership

We engage local communities from start to finish, training water user committees and local maintenance teams to ensure long-term functionality and accountability of all WASH facilities.
