Who You Are:

Position Overview: 

As a member of the Program Team, the Partnership and Program Officer will contribute to the strategic development and management of partnerships. This role includes analyzing operational contexts, engaging with working groups and forums, ensuring quality partnership management, and supporting the effective implementation of UMR’s Partnership Strategy and Guidelines. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Context Analysis and Proposal Management: 
  • Conduct analysis on the operational areas and global program trends.

Job Title: Program Coordinator Somalia

The UMR Somalia Program Coordinator will join UMR’s Program Division, working closely with the East Africa Program Manager, Global Program Lead, Project Managers, Program Officers, and Coordinators to ensure comprehensive support for UMR’s humanitarian portfolio in the Horn of Africa. 

This role focuses on supporting refugees and displaced people in UMR’s countries of operation, including protecting their well-being, rights, and dignity, service delivery, and other aspects of humanitarian assistance. The coordinator will work closely with UMR’s program teams (both field and HQ) and the Business Development team to help design and provide relevant technical support. The coordinator will represent UMR in key humanitarian forums, ensure project quality, build team capacity, lead business development, and contribute to organizational learning across the shelter and protection portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Lay the legal and programmatic groundwork for UMR operations in Somalia.
  • Liaise with Health, WASH, and FSL Clusters, local and international NGOs, the Somali Ministry of Health, and civil society actors to identify humanitarian needs in government-held areas of Somalia.
  • Propose possible areas of intervention for UMR in Somalia, including supporting data for future concept notes. 
  • Work with the UMR program team in Kenya and HQ to identify funding opportunities in Somalia.
  • Propose funding opportunities that align with UMR’s mission and, if appropriate, identify local or international partner organizations as potential co-applicants. 

Project Quality and Learning: 

  • Ensure that camp and settlement-based humanitarian projects implemented by UMR meet global standards (i.e., Core Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE, etc.). 
  • Promote systematic program learning to ensure that lessons learned are identified, documented, and shared across country programs and the overall portfolio. 
  • Support UMR’s Humanitarian Assistance Technical Community of Practice to leverage best practices in the shelter and protection sectors across all UMR projects. 
  • Provide support to projects through technical backstopping, review and refinement of implementation SOPs, and review and support for program reports and other donor deliverables.
  • Ensure all tools, guidelines, and procedures required in emergencies and humanitarian contexts are in place, understood, and utilized by UMR staff and partners.

Capacity Building: 

  • Identify field technical staff capacity gaps and develop capacity-building plans to improve program quality. 
  • Support the professional development of field technical staff through a combination of remote training, on-the-job support and guidance, in-person training, technical backstopping, and advice.

Business Development: 

  • Dedicate approximately 60% of the position to new and follow-up business development. Act as the technical lead on proposals, guiding their development and ensuring the technical approach aligns with international best practices. Lead the writing of a limited number of proposals. 
  • Maintain relationships with charities, governmental and institutional donors, and other key stakeholders for networking, consultation, and new business development.

We are seeking an energetic Donor Relations Lead to work from our headquarters office in Washington, DC. In this role, you will design and oversee the Donor Care Department structure to bridge gaps in communication and standardize operating procedures for all donor needs. You are someone who takes initiative with little to no direction, is detailed, organized, and most importantly– driven! This role is meant to enhance the donor relationship with UMR by streamlining all communications and outreach, and bringing excellent customer service to our wonderful supporters.

Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship and Management (80%)

  • Automate complex donor processes that remove challenges to the current system and create more efficient streamlined systems
  • Generate monthly reports and dashboards using Salesforce and other integrated platforms to identify strengths and weaknesses within existing systems and to track progress of fund development efforts
  • Establish and manage information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, on-going communications and continued cultivation of past and current donors and leads to enhance their relationship with UMR and increase the likelihood of continued contributions (donor retention)
  • Discover donor companies’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) and/or workplace giving objectives, identify opportunities that align with UMR’s mission statement, and work with donor care staff to create engaging initiatives and opportunities

United Mission Relief and Development (UMR) is seeking a dedicated and innovative Marketing and Fundraising  Specialist to join our team. This role is vital for raising grant funding and exploring new  channels of funding to support our humanitarian and development programs worldwide. The  ideal candidate will be adept at leveraging program data to build partnerships and foster a  network of support among like-minded NGOs. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and fundraising strategy aimed at  securing grant funding from various sources including governmental bodies, private  foundations, and international donors. 
  • Analyze in-country program data to identify funding needs and opportunities, and  craft compelling proposals and reports that align with donor priorities. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with a network of NGOs, community  organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support  for programs. 
  • Innovate and explore new funding channels, including digital campaigns,  crowdfunding, and social media strategies, to increase visibility and donor  engagement. 
  • Coordinate with program teams to gather insights and outcomes that demonstrate  the impact of initiatives, using this data to inform and enhance fundraising eLorts. 
  • Represent United Muslim Relief at networking events, conferences, and workshops  to raise awareness and foster relationships with potential donors and partners. 
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to track performance and adapt strategies as  necessary to meet or exceed fundraising targets. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a  related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit  or NGO setting. 
  • Strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and experience working with  international development programs. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create  persuasive and clear communications and presentations. 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret program data to inform fundraising strategies and  proposals. 
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high  degree of competency. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate eLectively with  a diverse range of internal teams and external partners.

Job Title: Call Center Representative

We are looking for a competent Call Center Representative to work closely with other team members to provide outstanding service to our donors by answering questions, handling complaints, and soliciting donations. The Call Center Representative should be comfortable handling a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, and should seek to create a positive experience for each caller. This position is temporary and will last up to 2 months, with on-call tasks.

Responsibilities
To be a successful Call Center Representative, you should be donor-focused, detail-oriented, and efficient. You should be polite, reliable, knowledgeable, and adaptable.

  • Place outgoing calls to our database donors informing them about UMR’s 2022 Ramadan and Qurbani campaigns and solicit donations
  • Answer incoming calls from prospective donors, and assist with solving any problems or inquiries presented
  • Complete donation requests; record and maintain call center database by entering information accurately and in a timely manner following our guidelines
  • Facilitate correspondence with donors via online (email) and over-the-phone communication
  • Establish positive user experience throughout the donor’s donation journey and retain donor acquisition
  • Able to complete the training necessary prior to the start of the campaign(s)

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficient in English, bilingual Preferred (Arabic, Urdu, or Swahili)
  • Tech-savvy. Able to assist donors while multitasking on the computer and phone
  • Friendly, positive and professional attitude, and the desire to go above and beyond
  • Data entry skills and the ability to pay attention to details
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Patient and able to handle customer service issues
  • High school diploma and relevant 2-years experience

Compensation: $12-$15/hr

Hours: 25 hrs/week including weekends
