Role Overview
Regional Fundraising Specialists will lead and manage fundraising initiatives within their assigned region, build strong donor and community relationships, and represent the organization at events, conventions, and community engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional fundraising campaigns and events
- Cultivate and steward donor, sponsor, and partner relationships
- Represent the organization at regional and national events
- Coordinate with leadership to align fundraising goals with humanitarian programs
- Track fundraising performance and donor engagement
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, or donor engagement

- Willingness to travel within the region and work flexible hours as needed

Position Title: National Sudan Program Coordinator
Location: Based in Port Sudan and Halfa, Sudan
Reports To: Program Director (HQ, USA)
Background
UMR (United Mission for Relief and Development) is a US-based international INGO committed to providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to communities in need. With a focus on youth and women empowerment, UMR aims to enhance the well-being of vulnerable populations in Sudan through innovative programs and strategic partnerships.
Position Summary
The Sudan Program Coordinator will oversee the implementation and development of programs specifically within Sudan. The role involves ensuring quality program delivery, representing UMR in UN platforms and clusters, and coordinating closely with the Program Director in the USA.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Lead Program Implementation: Manage and oversee the implementation of all UMR programs in Sudan, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and scopes.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively to achieve program goals.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program performance and impact.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program continuity.
Program Development
- Needs Assessments: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to inform the design and development of new programs.
- Proposal Development: Prepare high-quality proposals and secure funding from donors, ensuring alignment with UMR’s strategic objectives.
- Innovation: Foster innovative approaches and methodologies in program design, particularly in youth and women empowerment.
Representation and Advocacy
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and donors.
- UN Platforms: Represent UMR in relevant UN clusters, working groups, and coordination platforms, advocating for UMR’s programs and priorities.
- Public Relations: Enhance UMR’s visibility and influence in the humanitarian and development sectors through effective public relations strategies.
Quality Assurance and Reporting
- Compliance: Ensure all programs comply with UMR’s standards and donor requirements.
- Reporting: Coordinate with country offices and partners to produce accurate and timely reports and deliverables.
- Capacity Building: Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to country offices and partners to enhance program quality.
Coordination and Communication
- Internal Communication: Maintain regular communication with the Program Director and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination.
- Information Sharing: Facilitate coordination and information sharing between country offices and partners.
- External Communication: Contribute to UMR’s internal and external communications, including newsletters, reports, and social media.
Qualifications
- Education: Advanced degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management and development, preferably in Sudan or the MENA region.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in youth and women empowerment programs. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Arabic. Knowledge of additional regional languages is an asset.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently within Sudan.
