Reflections on My First PMP Bootcamp Training

Since joining UMR in 2019, I’ve had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally through countless experiences—but attending my first PMP Bootcamp with Dr. Khaled Falah stands out as one of the most meaningful.

The training took place at Darul Uloom Masjid in Queens, New York, and from the moment I walked in, I could tell this was going to be something special. The room was filled with people from all walks of life—young professionals, community leaders, students—all eager to learn and grow. The energy was focused, welcoming, and deeply collaborative.

Dr. Khaled is truly an incredible speaker and teacher. He has a way of breaking down complex concepts so they not only make sense, but feel relevant to your everyday life. Yes, we covered the five PMP domains—initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing—but what made the experience so powerful was how practical and engaging he made it. It wasn’t just about passing an exam or adding a credential to your resume (though that’s part of it!). It was about learning how to approach life and work with intention, strategy, and confidence.

The community aspect of the bootcamp was also a huge highlight for me. It’s not every day you find yourself in a room full of people who are all there to better themselves—and to support each other while doing it. Conversations during breaks turned into new friendships and professional connections. I left not only with new skills, but with a renewed sense of purpose and motivation.

The bootcamp was both inspiring and practical—not just for advancing a career, but for improving every area of life. Whether you’re managing a team, buying a house, planning a major project, or just trying to stay more organized, the tools we learned are immediately applicable.

I’m already looking forward to attending a second session so I can complete my 40 hours of training and take the PMP exam. With any luck, I’ll be PMP certified soon—and I’ll carry this experience with me every step of the way.
