Since September 1st,  relentless heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc, leaving a trail of destruction and displacing countless families. The hardest hit area is Punjab, where a staggering 323,612 out of 394,314 individuals are now displaced. Tragically, the toll includes 6 lives lost, 101 people injured, and a heart-wrenching loss of 8,061 precious livestock.
Critical Infrastructure and Vital Agriculture Under Threat
Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan bear the brunt of this catastrophe, with housing and shelter taking severe hits. Agricultural lands, particularly in Punjab and Chitral, are reeling, with a devastating 80% of standing crops affected.
The grim statistics tell a story of widespread devastation:
- 17,955 homes damaged
- 7,017 shelters obliterated
- 15 crucial roads impassable
- 44 schools in dire need
