Winter is Here
This winter season, share warmth with a family in need.
When you donate to UMR, you are providing individuals with more than just winter clothes and food – you are sharing the gift of hope, faith, and love during a time it’s needed most.
Share Warmth with UMR
Every year, UMR provides families in need with Winter Care Kits containing essential items such as coats, hats, scarves, and more.
This year, our kits are filled with more items than ever before.
Let’s not allow another parent to be forced to choose between putting food on the table or heating their home this winter.
Each Winter Care Kit contains clothing items (coats, scarves, sweaters, boots, pajamas, long underwear for both adults and children); non-perishable food items (beans, rice, pasta, sugar, oil, tomato paste, etc.); as well as hygiene products (soaps, sanitizers, and more).
The Hard Truth
1 in 6 children in the USAÂ live below the poverty line. As it stands, children are considered the poorest age group in America. This means that this winter, hundreds of thousands of children will go to sleep hungry, cold, and without protection from the winter weather.Â
Refugee camps all over the world often don’t provide protection from extreme weather. Flash foods, hail, and heavy rain have the potential to rip refugees’ homes out from underneath them, leaving them with nothing.
Lebanon is almost three years into an economic and financial crisis that is among the worst the world has seen. The majority of the population lives well below the poverty line, unable to purchase food, medicine, fuel, and so many other basic necessities.
